Bagenalstown trainer John “Shark” Hanlon plans to run his star mare Skyace in next month’s Guinness Galway Hurdle at the festival.

The 2021 Galway Races was launched at a virtual event yesterday.

Shark says that his Grade 1 winner is likely to have a nice weight for the big race and he is looking forward to her running.

“Skyace is great, she got her month off, she has done very well, she’s back and we couldn’t have her any better now,” said Shark.

“She’s coming there nicely, she’s not fit yet but she’ll tell me herself when she’s fit, she’s one of them mares”.

“She never worked well at home, but comes down the road bouncing, so we’re all happy” he added.
