Saturday witnessed two matches in the JJ Kavanagh and Sons Senior Hurling Championship. In the first match, Bagenalstown Gaels secured a solid victory over Naomh Eoin, finishing with a scoreline of 0-17 to 0-11.
The second clash saw Ballinkillen and Mount Leinster Rangers battling to a draw, ending 1-17 to 0-20. This result marks Mount Leinster Rangers’ second draw in two games. Despite being the defending Carlow Senior Champions, they have yet to clinch a win this season.
Mount Leinster Rangers manager Paul O’Brien was candid in his post-match assessment. “We were lucky to come out with a point, Ballinkillen were better than us,” he remarked. “They were hungrier than us from the start, they were sharper on the breaks, they were hungry for tackles. At the end of it, we were lucky to get a point, and I’d say they’re disgusted because they were better than us for the hour and five minutes.”
