New year, new management setups.

It’s been a busy few weeks in Carlow with developments on the intercounty camogie scene leading to some new faces on the sidelines ahead of the 2023 season.

In recent days, the county have confirmed that Clara senior club manager in Kilkenny, Peter ‘Chap’ Cleere, will be taking over as intermediate team manager for the year ahead. Cleere has confirmed to Scoreline that due to the nature of the split season, he’ll be keeping up with his role at Clara later in the year. The two-time All-Ireland winner with Kilkenny will be joined by Liam Doyle, Tracy Condell and Edel Ryan (S&C).

Preparations for Carlow’s league campaign, beginning on the first weekend of March away to Louth, are already underway with the management team already in place a number of weeks.

Carlow’s minor squad will be overseen by Shane Murray and Dessie Ward. They’ll be joined by selectors Ann Kavanagh, James Connolly, Noel Lillis and Maria Foley.

Carlow Camogie have also confirmed John Joe Martin will look after the county’s under 16 team this year, with Anthony O’Brien and Davy Holden taking on the under 16 B / under 15 side. Lisa McDonald, Caitriona O’Neill, Karen Burke, Tina Minogue and Agnes Doogue are among the selectors, female liaison officers and admisitrators for the new season.
