Carlow Formula Vee driver Des Foley in running for Race Of Champions is looking to close out a fantastic rookie year in Irish Motorsport by competing at the Race of Champions in London.

The Race of Champions is an international motorsport event held at the end of each year, featuring some of the world’s best racing and rally drivers. It is the only competition in the world where stars from Formula One, World Rally Championship, IndyCar, NASCAR, sportscars and touring cars compete against each other, going head-to-head in identical cars.

Des is one of ten drivers in the running for ROC Factor where a public vote could help him win a coveted spot at the race and compete against some of the world’s best. The former Olympic Stadium in London will play host to the event in a fortnight’s time and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Vote For Des Foley

You’ll need a Facebook account in order to vote in the poll but every vote helps and voting closes this Friday. As of lunchtime today (Wednesday), Des finds himself in second position in the poll, with less than 1% of the overall vote keeping him off the top spot.

Listen below to his chat with Eoin Carey on today’s KCLR Afternoons.

You can keep up to date with Des’ racing career through his own Facebook page here, packed with track photos and videos.
