Carlow Senior Football manager Turlough O’Brien says they were denied a legitimate penalty claim towards the end of yesterday’s defeat to Leitrim.

Speaking to KCLR, Turlough says despite Carlow’s late fight-back, Leitrim were overall deserving winners.

The final score was Leitrim 2-14, Carlow 2-12.

“We had clawed our way back into contention”

“We were 6 or 7 points down there coming towards the end, but we made a great recovery and got it back level and we probably had a couple of chances there to go ahead and in the last minute of injury-time, I suppose we had I would say a legitimate penalty claim denied and they got away with a win themselves in the end but in overall terms, Leitrim deserved to win the game in the end”
