Former Carlow Senior Footballer Willie Quinlan says they have gone backwards over the last two years since gaining promotion to Division 3.
Carlow go into Saturday night’s Division 4 League clash in Dungarvan against Waterford knowing they need to win their final three games to have any sort of chance to be in the mix for promotion, and speaking to KCLR after last Sunday’s draw against Antrim, Willie says that Carlow lack the consistency to maintain a winning momentum.
He said “We are not a consistent Team or a consistent County that we can stay winning and stay winning, if you look at it, two years ago we were probably on that same line as Laois, they were beating us by two or three points, but we weren’t far off them and you can see Laois progressed into Division Two and are really consistent the way they are playing”.
“Carlow have been on a downward spiral, they have gone back into Division 4 and really struggling to make their mark in Division 4, we need to get some sort of consistency in our game”.
