Carlow Senior Hurling manager Colm Bonnar says they will be taking the National League campaign very seriously to try and maintain their status in Division 1B.
Carlow have made a winning start to the new season with victories against Laois and Offaly in the Walsh Cup and speaking to KCLR, Colm says they have a lot of big games coming up.
“The way the League has worked out, we won’t be meeting Laois and Offaly until the very end of the League so their is a lot of big games to play like Dublin, Galway and Waterford in the first three games so we are hoping that we will still be standing, and that we will have our confidence intact and we will still have everything to play for when we hit the last two games”
“But as I said you don’t know what these bigger teams are taking the League or what they are trying to get out of it, but for us it’s very very important that we can maintain our status in Division 1B and who knows along the way, maybe take a scalp or two so yeah look, everything to play for”
“It’s the same for all teams, trying to find your best form in the month of January, it’s not ideal but that’s the way it is and that’s what we are training for”
