Fourth Year Sports and Excercise Science students in Carlow IT are participating in a 48 hour move-athon next week, to raise some much needed funds for the Jack and Jill Foundation.

The donation link can be found here .

Carlow Kilkenny FC u17 manager Gemma Murphy was talking to KCLR and outlining what is involved ,

“We are going to do a 48 hour moveathon. So basically all the students are going to take one and two hour blocks for 48 hours, with somebody constantly exercising. Weather walking the dog, going for a run, cycling or doing an online gym class. We will be taking pictures and recording videos and sharing them online to raise as many donations as possible.”

As we said Gemma is also involved with Carlow Kilkenny FC Ladies team, who had recorded their first victory ever just before the lockdown. When asked how her team reacted to the news that they could not keep the season going she said,

“They were heartbroken but they know we are coming out the otherside, so we are raring to go.”
