Carlow Kilkenny FC have named their captain and vice captain for the 2022 Women’s National League U19 season.

Kate Foley has been named as the Under 19s captain in her second season at the club where “she has shown nothing but dedication and commitment” to the side.

Mia Van Groningen Dack has been named as vice captain having lined out for both the Under 17 and Under 19 sides across last season. She was part of the club’s first ever League of Ireland women’s squad and is in her third season with Carlow Kilkenny FC.

Carlow Kilkenny FC are in Group 1 of the Women’s National League Under 19s competition alongside Athlone Town, Cork City, Galway WFC, Greystones United, Treaty United and Wexford Youths.

The season got off to a disappointing start over the weekend with Wexford Youths running riot on Sunday afternoon.

With Carlow Kilkenny FC trailing by two at the break, Wexford ran away with the second half entirely, notching up eight in 45 minutes to finish out 10-0 winners.

Team v Wexford: Kate Foley, Caitlín Kennedy, Grace Smith, Aoibhínn Quinlan, Emma Phillips, Lateefat Ganiyu, Mia Van Groningen Dack, Katelyn Boggan, Holly Rossiter, Emma Doyle, Mary Bolger. Subs: Ciara Morrissey, Lily O’Neill
