Carlow Rugby Club PRO John Shirley says that Sunday’s Leinster League Division 2A clash at home to Railway Union could be a crunch clash in the destination of the League title.

Speaking to KCLR, John says says the youngsters from last season that have come into the squad have strengthened their hand considerably.

“Keep our fingers cross that it can continue for a while. We have a few new players. We have two, we have Robert Browne and we have young Johnny Murphy on the wing”

“They have come up from that very good Under-18 Team that won all around them last year”

“Oh, next weekend could be a crunch match of the season as a result of last weeks game, Railway Union in Dublin moved up onto the same score as us in the table. Whoever wins that game must has a very good chance of taking the League title this year”
