Carlow Rugby Club PRO John Shirley says their is potentially a good back line if they can get their defence right.

Speaking to KCLR ahead of Sunday’s promotion-relegation play-off against Dublin outfit Suttonians, John says their back line is getting stronger with each game.

“We know very little about them (Suttonians) except that they have come down a couple of divisions (they dropped from 1A to 1B last season), but sure all we can do is give it our best shot.”

“There were times there last week when our team was playing quite well and the backs seem to be getting stronger with every match. We have very young backs, but they are speedy and once they get the defence right, there is potentially a good back line there.

“No matter what team we play, we seem to maybe more than hold our own in the pack” he said.
