Junior rugby is Leinster is back in full swing this weekend after the mid-November break and ahead of their clash with Railway Union this weekend, Michael O’Leary caught up with Carlow captain Wes Shirley.

On a five game winning streak both home and away, Carlow have been putting together some rugby this season as they look

“Thankfully it’s gone very well so far. We’ve got a tough, tough game against Railway, a good Dublin side coming down to us so they are. The next three weeks we’ll have very tough matches and hopefully we’ll be able to come good in them so we will.”

With Carlow topping Division 2A, there’s a lot to play for at present. Portarlington follow Railway next weekend as the only side to have beaten Carlow in the league to date and with Portlaoise waiting in the wings, the Christmas run-in will be vital for the Oak Park men.

Take a listen below to Shirley’s own take on matters pressing this weekend.
