Crettyard United manager Patrick Brennan says that Carlow Soccer Team should be aiming to win outside competitions like the Leinster and FAI Junior Cup.
Speaking to KCLR on last nights “The way it is” following Crettyard’s victory away to Crumlin United in the last 16 of the Leinster Junior Cup, Patrick says the standard of Soccer within the county has improved substantially……
“The standard in Carlow, a lot of people, I hear a lot of people talking about Carlow and saying ah it’s (Premier Division) only a three horse race every year”
“It’s nearly like that in every sport. There is always those few clubs that stand out but the standard in Carlow is definitely has improved substantially over the last couple of seasons and we are no longer just looking to make a mark and maybe win one or two of these games and maybe take a scalp”
“Everybody in Carlow Soccer should be looking at it that we should be going there that we are live contenders to win some of these competitions now”
