Carlow’s journey in the TG4 All-Ireland Junior Championship came to an end yesterday at Parnell Park following a hard-fought defeat to Louth.
The final scoreline read 2-11 to 0-11 in favor of the Wee County, who displayed a dominant second-half performance to secure their spot in the final.
At halftime, Carlow were in a promising position, leading by a single point. However, the match turned dramatically in the second half as Louth surged ahead with renewed energy. Despite Carlow’s best efforts, they were unable to contain Louth’s offensive onslaught.
Carlows’s Sara Doyle reflected on the game when speaking to KCLR
“Towards the end, they probably just seemed to have a little bit more legs and also I don’t know what it was but it was a tough, tough game and it was just the last five minutes we lost it,” Doyle said. “It’s hard then when you’re chasing the game with not very long left to go. You’re trying to get the goal and you’re pushing up, pushing up, and you kind of leave yourself exposed a little bit in the back line when you did. You have to take risks in All-Ireland semi-finals.”
