Carlow U-20 Manager and PRO with Bord na nOg Patrick O’Flynn is aiming to promote the minor hurling championship in Kilkenny this year.
Speaking to KCLR’s Scoreline on Sunday, O’Flynn explained what the County Board is hoping to do this year.
“Last year we did a section called ‘What I Love about my Club’ and this year we thought that we’d do something similar. So, we’ll be doing a preview of the minor championship this year in Kilkenny with just some fun facts about the clubs and their players.”
He also called on clubs to send in the relevant information as soon as they can.
“The clubs have started to send in the information but there are about 15 clubs who are still outstanding, so we are appealing to them to send in the information as soon as possible to give people in the background the praise that they deserve.”
O’Flynn highlighted the importance of the club in these difficult times.
“The club means everything to everyone and the amount of older people that didn’t get to see their clubs play last year was terrible, so this is just to promote that we’re on our way back.”
This year they wish to put together a section on minor club teams for 2021 and to shine a light on all the good work being undertaken by clubs at underage level in the county. If a club could contact Bord na nOg before the 1st of April 2021 via email at probn[email protected] for more information, they would be delighted.
