Former Carlow Senior Football Willie Quinlan says that realistically their promotion prospects back to Division Three are almost certainly over following yesterday’s draw against Antrim having led by 6 points early in the match.
Speaking after the end of yesterday’s match, Willie says that Carlow’s position in the table should be completely different following the finish of their last two games.
He said “Yeah, it’s very hard to see it now you are depending on other results and it doesn’t look like it’s going to go the way, realistically the League is possibly over, and it’s a game as I said, should have beat Limerick, should have won here (Antrim).
“We were 6 points up early in the game, but just couldn’t hold on and Antrim finished really really well, looked like they were going to win the game so from that point of view, a draw was a good result for Carlow but we got a draw, we needed a win and possibly that’s our League finished for this year”.
