Carlow senior football manager Niall Carew has said that the championship should always take precedent over the league when it comes to the intercounty season.
Carlow takes on Waterford away in their opening game on Saturday 15th May.
Carew, who was a guest on this week’s episode of The Clash Act Podcast, believes a run in the championship is far more valuable than success in the league.
“I’m on record of saying this that for me, the championship is always what it’s all about, and if you said to me now, get to a Leinster final or get out of division four, I will take the Leinster final every day of the week,” said Niall.
