Chief Executive of Horse Racing Ireland Brian Kavanagh is more than hopeful that the Cheltenham Festival next week will go ahead.

Speaking to KCLR on last Sunday’s “Sunday Scoreline”, Brian says the fact that Racing is still going ahead in Ireland and the UK is a good sign that there will be no restrictions.

“Who could have expected this Corona Virus to come out of the woodwork, but certainly all the messages we are getting for the people in Cheltenham and the British Horse Authority is that it’s business as usual over there, and certainly it’s business as usual in Ireland so there is no restrictions at the moment on Racing either in the UK or in Ireland, I would be very hopeful that that would continue and see us through until after Cheltenham”
