Kilkenny senior hurling boss Brian Cody has been paying compliments to the younger players coming off the bench against Limerick in Nowlan Park on Sunday.

The Cats suffered a nine point defeat at the hands of John Kiely’s side, thanks largely in part to two quick-fire goals in the closing stages of the first half.

Speaking to KCLR after Sunday’s game, he said the players involved on Sunday will benefit greatly from the experience.

“We are getting an opportunity to try a lot of players”, said Cody in speaking to KCLR.

“We want to try them, as well as the fact that we are hit with injuries, but that’s fine.”

“Any of the lads who came all played decent – Ger Malone, Liam Blanch(field), Conor Browne and Michael Carey so that’s good experience for them.”
