There were a number of eye-catching results on Wednesday in the Leinster Post-Primary School Junior ‘A’ Hurling Championship.
In a renewal of the fiercest rivalry in schools hurling, St Kieran’s College took on city rivals CBS Kilkenny in an enthralling semi-final.
Superior accuracy from the men in black and white proved crucial as Kieran’s advanced to the decider on a scoreline of 3-19 to 3-13.
They will face Coláiste Mhuire Johnstown in the decider following their heroics against Good Counsel College in an intense last-four encounter.
The Kilkenny school’s point-taking ability was the difference between the sides as they booked their place in the final.
The date for the clash between the two Kilkenny schools has not yet been confirmed.
There is one Kilkenny school involved in Thursday’s fixtures.
Castlecomer Community School play host to Coláiste Eoin in the semi-final of the Leinster Junior ‘A1’ Hurling Championship.
That game throws-in at midday.
