Richie Leahy, Walter Walsh, Ciaran Wallace, and Niall Brassil could feature for Kilkenny in some form this weekend as they come back from injuries.

Kilkenny travels to Ennis to take on Clare in their final league game tomorrow (Saturday) from 3 pm.

Brian Cody will name his team today (Friday) and says that’s hard to do with the competition for places.

“You try and get some game time into as many players as possible, so far that’s been working out for us,” said Brian.

“The only reason that picking the team will be difficult we hope is because of the quality of the competition for places and we’re happy that we have that and with players coming back, there’s good players ready to come as well”.

“We definitely have choices to make and decisions to make, but that’s a position of strength I believe rather than the other way around” he added.

Format

Kilkenny is unbeaten in the league this year in Group B and they top the group.

It’s a bit of a strange one this year as there are no league finals, instead, if they play the Group A winners (Galway, Cork, Tipperary) in the All-Ireland championship, it will double up as the Division 1 final.

If they don’t, the title will be shared with the top team in Group A.

We have live commentary of the game here on KCLR with thanks to Laharts in Kilkenny.
