Kilkenny Manager Brian Cody says Conor Fogartys injury isn’t as bad as first feared.

A scan on his ankle has come back clear but he did suffer heavy bruising.

The Erins Own man got a bang to the ankle early on in Kilkennys 2-23 to 2-22 win over Cork last weekend.

Lester Ryan came on for him early on in the game.

Speaking to KCLR Sport, Brian Cody said……

“Well Conor was a serious worry for us obviously when it happened, it was kind of  a replica of what happened last year essentially, and you know it was a serious serious belt he got, and he got in the very very same spot as he got it last year , so we’d a real concern about Conor but thankfully the x-rays appear to be all clear.”

“Obviously you know he had a fracture last year in that leg and another one this year would have been very very serious for us, but you know thankfully the x-rays is clear and obviously there’s serious bruising and that but hopefully he wont be too long out of action.”

Kilkenny welcome Dublin to Nowlan Park this Sunday at 2 o clock for the last round of league games, they’re already through to the knock out stages.

We’ll have LIVE commentary of the game on KCLR with thanks to Country Style Foods, Grannagh, Kilmacow, Kilkenny. “As local as it gets”.
