Danesfort 2-19

Fenians 0-11

Danesfort have continued their impressive start to the Michael Lyng Motors Hyundai Kilkenny Intermediate Hurling League as they eased past Fenians on Saturday afternoon.

They started brilliantly as a Philly Cooney goal came after three points from Richie Hogan as they moved into an early lead.

Hogan and Mark Webster then began to show their prowess from frees as they kept the scoreboard ticking over for both sides in the first half.

A second yellow card for Fenians’ Rory Phelan on the stroke of half-time left a mountain to climb for the Johnstown men as they went into the break with fourteen players and trailing by six points, Danesfort 1-08 to 0-05 Fenians.

The second half was merely a procession for the table toppers as 2014 Hurler of the Year Hogan showcased his skills from play and dead balls while a second goal from Robbie Walsh capped a fine display.

Fenians remain winless after three rounds with Danesfort lying in first position with six points.
