Kilkenny lose out to DIT in opening Walsh Cup game

Kilkenny went down to DIT in the Walsh Cup in their opening game on Wednesday evening.

DIT lead at the break 2-5 to 0-9 picking up two more goals in the second half.

Wexford hurlers Conor McDonald and Jack Guiney were the stand out performers for DIT.

Former hurler Eddie Brennan took charge of the side which is made up predominantly of the U21 hurlers.

4-14 to 16 points was the final score, Kilkenny now face Offaly next Sunday in Birr.
