Draw details: Carlow, Tullow, Kilkenny all through to Provincial Towns Cup quarter-finals

All three local Leinster League clubs are through to the quarter-finals of this year's Provincial Towns Cup.

We’re in the thick of cup-rugby season locally and Sunday saw Carlow, Tullow and Kilkenny all progress to the quarter-finals of this year’s Bank of Ireland Provincial Towns Cup.

The top cup competition for junior rugby in Leinster – with Kilkenny as defending champions – saw a number of big scores in yesterday’s second round of games. Trailing early on, Tullow made a big comeback to take a 38-36 win against Boyne; Kilkenny were 29-6 winners over Ashbourne while Carlow dominated New Ross from start to finish to post a 57-13 win. Other results saw Tullamore beat Skerries 31-19 while Cill Dara had a narrow 12-11 win over Wicklow.

Provincial Towns Cup quarter-final draw

  • Enniscorthy v Tullow
  • Naas v Cill Dara
  • Gorey v Kilkenny
  • Tullamore v Carlow

(First team named is at home)

All games will be played on Sunday 19 March with a 3pm kick-off.
