An overall package of €150 million in new capital grants under the latest round of the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme (SCEP).

With funding details announced today (Friday), some €144 million is allocated to almost 1,900 applications with €6 million kept in reserve for successful appeals lodged by unsuccessful applicants.

It’s a record level of funding, matched only by the record level of applications covering everything from equipment purchases to building works, drainage schemes, lighting and more.

Across Kilkenny and Carlow, the lower scale of provisional grants allocated are around the €4,000 mark with the upper limit at €150,000.

Among those to benefit in Carlow are Ballinabranna GAA Club who are set to receive almost €100,000 towards the upgrade of GAA and community sporting facilities, and Clonmore GFC who are in line for over €73,000 towards the second phase of works on an additional pitch at the club grounds.

On the Kilkenny side of the funding, the astro training facility for Ballyhale Shamrocks will receive a €150,000 boost on the higher end of the scale, while at the lower end Kilmacow Football Club will collect €6,000 towards new goals and LED lighting.

You can see the full breakdown of clubs by county below.
