Bayern Munich have been crowned champions of the Bundesliga for the 8th season in a row with two games to spare.

They celebrated behind closed doors following a 1-0 win away to Werder Bremen. Robert Lewandowski scored the winning goal, his 31st league goal of the season.

Bayern have been undefeated since a return to play in the German league. They went up against their closest rivals Borussia Dormund on May 26th. That victory with a single goal by Kimmich, proved to be pivitol in the title chase.

Next up for the champions are SC Freiburg and Wolfsburg who are both currently sixth and seventh in the league.

The Bundesliga was the first Elite level football competition to undergo their restart procedure in mid May.

Meanwhile, the Premier League returns tonight, with 92 games to be played behind closed doors between now and the end of the season.

Aston Villa kick off against Sheffield United at Villa Park from 6pm, with Manchester City to host Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium from 8.15.

A win will take Villa out of the relegation zone.

If City lose, then Liverpool will be crowned champions by beating Everton this Sunday.
