Fenagh won the Junior Football ‘C’ championship on Sunday defeating Ballinabranna by four points at Netwatch Cullen Park.

Fenagh led by 1-4 to 0-2 after fifteen minutes, the goal coming from the long serving evergreen Stephen O’Brien but Ballinabranna narrowed the gap to two points at half time Fenagh 1-5 Ballinabranna 0-6.

Fenagh edged three points clear coming in to the closing stages and it was a dangerous lead as the Ballinabranna men attacked. But Fenagh stood firm and when Michael Murphy sent over the games last point to put four between the sides and the Cup was on it’s way to Fenagh on a scoreline of 1-9 to 0-8.

Fenagh defeated Ballinabranna in the senior footbal league Div 5 final by 1-6 to 0-3 some weeks ago.

Eire Og added the second trophy to the cabinet as they proved two strong for the Fighting Cocks in the Senior Football League Div 2 final at Netwatch Cullen Park yesterday evening.

In a low scoring opening half Eire Og scored three points and the Fighting Cocks two.

Eleven minutes in to the last period Mark Kelly shot Eire Og’s first goal, the Fighting Cocks kept in touch but when Reece Denniffe scored Eire Og’s second goal the issue was never in doubt. Final score Eire Og 2-6, Fighting Cocks 0-7.

In the J.J. Kavanagh & Sons Senior Hurling Championship Mt. Leinster Rngs and St. Mullins served up the best game of the championship so far on Saturday evening at Netwatch Cullen Park.

The game produced four top class goals and thirty six scores over all as Mt. Leinster Rngs held on for a two point win.

John Walsh scored the two goals for St. Mullins while Chris Nolan and Eddie Byrne sent two rockets to the St. Mullins net as Rngs edged 2-11 t 2-8 clear at half time.

Points from Jack kavanagh and Seamus Murphy narrowed the gap to a single score however two gems from Chris Nolan and Ted Joyce enabled the Rngs men to stay undefeated in the championship.
