Evergreen manager Packie Holden says the extended break from training over Christmas has refreshed them.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of Sunday’s FAI Junior Cup game away to Newtownfoundwell Co. Louth, Packie explains why taking the extended break made perfect sense for them.
“I am sure everybody was eager to get back training and get back playing especially. You could have trained away for the three weeks during Christmas, but when there is nothing there at the end of the day to play for, it gets demoralizing I would imagine so that’s the reason why we gave the lads an extended break. They came back refreshed, they came back in good form and we had some really really good performances last Sunday. It worked out well for us obviously other teams might have done something different, but that’s just the way we went about it this year”
