The third round of the FA Cup continues today.
Saturday’s action saw Arsenal progress past Newcastle, the Gunners needing goals in extra time from Emile Smith Rowe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
In the evening game, a fifth minute header from Scott McTominay was enough to book Manchester United into the fourth round at the expense of Waterford.
On to Sunday and at 1.30pm League Two side Crawley Town welcome the Premier League’s Leeds United to the Broadfield Stadium.
At the same time Bristol City entertain Portsmouth, Cheltenham take on Mansfield Town, Chelsea host Morecambe, Birmingham head to the Etihad to face Manchester City, and it’s Barnsley v Tranmere at Oakwell.
Into the evening games, it’s non-league Marine hosting Tottenham at 5pm.
Spurs forward Gareth Bale may feature after recovering from a calf injury.
Marine play in the eighth tier of English football and their manager Neil Young is hoping for a special day.
“We’re looking forward to it. Apprehensive, obviously, with the opposition that are coming but really looking forward to it”, says Young.
“We’ve come a long way. It took seven games to get here and now obviously we’ve drawn Tottenham Hotspur.”
“To draw a Premier League club, to come to Marine, is a phenomenal achievement from everybody at the football club. These things don’t come around very often. In 126 years, it’s not happened and it’s the biggest FA Cup tie in terms of the lowest team against one of the highest-ranked teams.”
And at a 7.45 pm Newport County and Brighton meet at Rodney Parade.
