Former Carlow football captain Paul Cashin thinks Stevie Poacher would be a good choice as new Carlow football manager.

Turlough O’Brien stepped down this year after six years in the role.

Speaking to KCLR, Cashin says he believes Poacher would be a popular appointment:

“They both have great footballing minds, I know speaking to the current Carlow panel they all love Poacher as well, he brings a great mindset to the team, I think always over the years they needed that mindset of going out and you can mix it with the big teams and you can win and he brought that in”.

He added “If he comes along again, and he wants to be manager and gets it, I think people will be more than happy with that”.
