Former Kilkenny hurler Peter chap Cleere says he expects Liam Cahill to get the Tipperary manager’s job.

Liam Sheedy stepped down yesterday (Monday) after his second term with the county which included an All-Ireland title win in 2019.

There’s a lot of names being suggested including Kilkenny ones like Michael Fennelly and Eddie Brennan but chap says they’ll most likely keep the person local.

“Eddie has had a fantastic career with Laois, he’s had a couple of great years up with Cuala at the moment and he has learned his trade, he’s experienced,” said Chap.

“You have the likes of Michael Fennelly, he has done a great job with Offaly, coming back with the Christy Ring Cup there, you have Henry Shefflin who has trained Ballyhale a couple of times, his name is going to be mentioned”.

“Then you have the likes of Davy Fitzgerald and those who finished up this year, so there are a plethora of names, but Tipperary, like Kilkenny, they like to keep it internal, so I imagine it will be a Tipperary person and I can’t see too far past Liam Cahill at this stage”.
