Former Kilkenny hurler John Power says that the Kilkenny public need to be patient regarding their prospects of success.

Speaking to KCLR ahead of Saturday’s All-Ireland Qualifier against Limerick, John says the young players on the panel need time to settle in.

“We had people sitting on the benches with three and four all-stars to call on”

“We had that sort of experience. They were 20 players that you could pick 15 from any given night and one would be as good as the other, but the players on the bench now are new to the system and they have to prove their self, so it’s a different player that is coming onto the field”

“We have to be patient with them, we have to build them up and give them a year or two to bed in and that’s basically it and we are so used to winning maybe people wanted it all over again but it don’t happen that way”

We have LIVE commentary of Kilkenny V Limerick this Saturday evening from 7pm.
