Aisling Dunphy says the substitutions that were introduced in yesterday’s League Final was a contributing factor in their victory.

Speaking after yesterday’s game, Aisling says the fresh legs off the bench was a great help.

“We have loads of young players and even a few of the girls that were probably their first or second time playing in a league game and today was huge for them.”

“And do you what? They came on, and they stepped up to the mark.”

“There wasn’t one player that didn’t come on or any of the younger ones that didn’t, like no one let us down today and I think that’s probably what stood to us in the end.”

“We had fresh legs coming in and everyone that came on was an asset rather we weren’t including momentum, so we are just delighted and yeah we are delighted and glad to get the win.”

Kilkenny retained their Littlewoods Ireland Camogie Leagues Division 1 crown with a 2-07 to 0-10 victory over Cork at The Gaelic Grounds in Limerick on Sunday. Read the full report and get match photos here.
