Liam Blanchfield inspired Bennettsbridge to a first-round defeat of Tullaroan over the weekend as he scored four goals to help guide Tim Dooley’s men to a place in the last eight where they will face Glenmore.
The former Kilkenny player has returned to his club following an extended period of travelling and he outlined how the return came about when he spoke to KCLR at the weekend;
“I was hurling away there in Australia, with a club called Sydney Shamrocks.”
“Throughout the year, I was kinda humin’ and ha’in, whether to come home or not.”
“But I just bite the bullet and came home for the championship and see to see how we get on.”

In the eight-episode, we look back at a bumper weekend of championship action that included Tullaroan’s exit in the first round.
We also give our take on the upcoming senior quarter-finals including the mouth-watering clash of Ballyhale Shamrocks v Dicksboro and the scheduling of this weekend’s minor finals is debated.
