The Gowran Pitch & Putt club were crowned National Inter-club Champions for 2018 in Clonee, Co. Meath, on Saturday last.
In a bitterly cold Royal Meath, Gowran beat Deerpark (Killarney) in a tight match in the semif-inals on Saturday morning.
The Kilkennny club were 2-1 down after the doubles but fought back in the singles winning to claim a 5-4 victory before playing Riverdale from Tipperary in the final.
Gowran ran out 6-3 winners overall.
Saturday’s win marks the first ever national title at any level for the club.
The club were represented by Derek Delaney, Michael Kehoe, Derek Whelan, Tom Fitzpatrick, Larry Gibbons, Robert Middleton, Kevin Knox and James Casey.
