Evergreen A Manager Gary Maher says that their tough grueling training sessions since last July is the primary motivation for big games like Sunday’s FAI Junior Cup Quarter-Final clash against St. Michaels of Tipp Town.
Speaking to KCLR, Gary says the hectic training has been required especially for the task that awaits them on Sunday.
He said “We haven’t played against them many times, but look they are a formidable outfit, they were in the Semi-Finals of the FAI last year, they are in the Munster Junior Cup this year, they are in the Champions Cup Final down in Munster as well this year, so this is a massive test, it’s a massive opportunity but it’s one we are going to relish”.
“We are back training since last July, the things we talk about, the tough tuesday night sessions, the tough Friday night sessions, it’s the big days, the big FAI Junior Cup Quarter-Finals to play in ourselves against Michael’s and Sheriff and these clubs and that’s why we are there, that’s why we train two or three nights a week to play in matches like this”.
