Ballyhale Shamrocks Senior Hurling Defender Richie Reid says himself and Paul Murphy will be able to keep active while away on Army duty with the Irish Army Peacekeeping in the Lebanon for six months”.
Speaking to KCLR after last Saturday’s victory over St. Martins in the Leinster Semi-Final, Richie says that having his fellow Kilkenny Teammate with him is a major help.
He said “Basically I am going over there as a private so I will be doing patrols and duties over there, just surrounding the villages and towns and that so basically we are going over just to keep an eye on everything really and we will be camp mostly”.
“Myself and Paul will be together mostly over there and that so we will be able to train away there and we have the hurls going over as well so that will help a lot with us”.
