Former Kilkenny defender John Henderson says that Brian Cody needs every player available to mount a challenge for Championship honors this year for the challenge of Wexford on Saturday evening.

Speaking to KCLR ahead of Saturday evening’s Championship clash in Wexford, John says it’s a definite banana skin playing the Slaneysiders.

“I think I spoke (to KCLR) a year ago when Ger Aylward went and did the cruciate and you sort of said god it’s such a long road back from a cruciate injury and it’s great to see players coming back.

“Michael Fennelly’s horrific injury last year too coming back (from it), I think Brian needs anybody and everybody that he can get to mount a challenge this year.

“Kilkenny certainly proved last year that they still can match a lot of teams. It will be interesting to see how the year pans out. It is a definite banana skin playing Wexford down there.

“No matter how you would be prepared for it, you would want everybody all hands on deck really for that.”
