Uncapped backs Michael Lowry and Mack Hansen have made the cut as Ireland head coach Andy Farrell named his 37-man squad for the Six Nations on Wednesday.

Jack Carty has solidified his place in the squad following a fine spurt of form with Connacht, while Joey Carbery and Iain Henderson have been deemed fit enough to feature.

That is not the case for winger James Lowe however, with the Leinster man missing out through injury and Hansen replacing him in the squad.

Lowry and Hansen both make the squad on the back of impressive seasons so far with Connacht and Ulster respectively.

Andy Farrell’s side are going in search of their first Six Nations crown since 2018 when Ireland famously sealed the Grand Slam with a defeat of England in Twickenham on St. Patrick’s Day.
