Tullow Ladies Rugby Club player Claire Nolan says there is a lot more emphasis on speed of play within the Irish squad.

Former Tullow player Ciara Cooney was part of the side that beat Japan last weekend.

Ireland play France in Thursday’s must win Ladies Rugby World Cup clash in the UCD, and Speaking to KCLR, Claire says that Ireland are working very hard to keep up with the pace of the game…..

“Like we have a lot of 7s players there coming up like Eimear Considine, you have Ashleigh Baxter coming and the way the game has been played, it’s a lot quicker, a lot faster”

“You have Ailsh Egan there, you have still have your Niamh Briggs, Maz O’Reilly, they are leaders and they are the heart of it bringing on other players and passing on their wisdom and you can see the girls are working very very hard and it’s a credit to them to keep up with the pace of the game that we are developing just as well as other teams”
