Carlow senior footballers will begin their 2022 season with tricky games against Kildare and Westmeath in the O’Byrne Cup.
Niall Carew’s side have been out of action since June following a disappointing Leinster championship defeat at home to Longford.
More will be expected of the Barrowsiders next term and their journey starts with a home clash against Kildare on January 12.
They then travel to Westmeath on January 15 to take on a home side who were eliminated by Kildare in last year’s Leinster semi-final.
There are three groups with the winner of Group B playing the winner of Group C on January 19 in the semi-final. The final is scheduled for January 23 with the winners of Group A advancing straight to the final.
