Kilkenny see off Laois with ease on a scoreline of 2-28 (34) to Laois’ 17 points.

Laois started the better in the first 5 minutes.

However, Kilkenny soon took charge and there was no going back for the O’Moore County.

There was a disappointing turn out for this Round 3 Clash of the Allianz League with only approximately 3,00 spectators in attendance.

Billy Ryan, Tom Phelan, Alan Murphy and Martin Keoghan all got their names on the scoresheet in the first half.

Laois dropped their heads early on and displayed poor body language throughout.

This wasn’t helped by some very poor puck outs which resulted in Kilkenny scores.

Ryan and Keoghan were on fire in the full forward line, making life incredibly difficult for the Laoid backs.

Kilkenny should have been well clear but at halftime they only led 1-12 to 0-11.

Kilkenny started to pull away in the 2nd half and after about 40 minutes, the crowd was left with no doubt as to who would come out triumphant.

It was a good day’s work for Tom Phelan. He got his 2nd goal of the day after 43 minutes.

Walter Walsh made way for John Walsh with 10 minutes left on the clock.

This would turn out to be a good decision by Brian Cody as Walsh struck the ball over the bar just as the final whistle was blown.

Kilkenny came away with another 2 points. They will face Dublin in round 4 of the Allianz League.
