Kilkenny & District League Joint Manager Jim Nugent says they would have gone on and won the Oscar Traynor if they had got the all important goal they needed in yesterday’s contest.
Kilkenny were beaten 1-0 by Limerick.
Speaking to KCLR after the game, Jim felt that the Limerick defence were there for the taking in the latter part of the game.
He said “Anything that came in, the high ball came in, they dealt with it, but I thought when Sean Barcoe came on, he offered a little bit of a threat, they weren’t winning their headers as clean as they were, we went to the 4-4-2 we played better, I thought they were getting tired, we just needed that goal and I think we would have killed them off, but they just held out and held out and held out”.
