Kilkenny booked their place in the semi final of the Walsh Cup yesterday with a routine victory over Westmeath at Mullingar.
The Cats led by 12 points at the break in a half where Walter Walsh found the net twice.
Kilkenny maintained that margin for the remainder of the game, with Jonjo Farrell also bagging a brace of goals over the 70 minutes to secure a 4-18 to 18 points victory and a meeting with Davy Fitzgeralds Wexford next Sunday.
Brian Cody’s side have now scored 10-45 in two games which is fair scoring regardless of who the opposition is, although conceding 37 points to lower level opposition might be something where Kilkenny need to work on.
