Kilkenny 0-20, Limerick 0-17

The sight of Michael Fennellys name on the team sheet for this clash was a welcome one for Cody and for Kilkenny fans as the Ballyhale man brings tons of experience and a backbone to the side.

Experience is what was missing in the defeat to Wexford and the Kilkenny management needed that injection to make sure they got over a young and tough Limerick side.

The draw for the next round of qualifiers takes place on Monday morning and with Tipperary and Waterford, and then either Wexford or Galway there, there are more spicy clashes to come.

Kilkenny will need to work on their shooting sending a lot of shots wayward yesterday as did Limerick, TJ Reid towards to end too hit a free wide which is uncharacteristic of the Ballyhale man.

Limerick piled on the pressure in the remaining minutes sending over frees in a calmly manner however Lester Ryan and co ensure the cats kept their nosed in front.

Padraig Walsh had a good game for Kilkenny yesterday with Joey Holden, Cillian Buckley, Paddy Deegan and Walter Walsh all putting in solid performances.
