Wild Summits is an outdoor adventure company offering adventure tours and experiences throughout Ireland.
The company was set up by Kilkenny native Mark Keogh. Who has hung up his roller blades and put on his rock climbing boots with the aim being to create unique and educational adventure experiences in some of Ireland’s most impressive landscapes.
Wild Summits offers rock climbing activities run out of Ballykeefe Quarry in Kilkenny. Here you can get taster sessions which are climbing and abseiling experiences for first timers. You also have the Introduction to Rock climbing course for those looking to take their climbing that bit further.
They also run educational programs for schools. 2020 saw the first Schools Expedition Programme being rolled out with the Comeragh Mountains being one of the venues for the two day survival expedition trip. Apparently this expedition is now being turned into a 3 day experience and will be offered to students over the Easter holidays.
Other hiking experiences are run throughout the Wicklow Mountains, the most popular being the Glendalough Night Hike & History tours. Here hikers are guided through sunset and under the stars as they learn all the history that the Glendalough Valley has to offer.
The company was set up in January 2020 and business came to a halt only 3 months later when the country went into lockdown. Thankfully business kicked off better than ever with a jam packed summer and next season is looking to be even better.
