The Premier League is coming to a close. In European competition, the Champions League and Europa League are coming to a close.
Locally, we’re getting another taste of summer football with KFFL (Kilkenny Floodlit Football League) announcing a summer tournament.
Games will start on Tuesday 8 June with matchdays set for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings throughout the months of June and July.
The tournament is open to all present teams, as well as any new teams wishing to enter or step up for the summer.
With Carlow District League announcing their plans to suspend activity until the start of their 2021/22 season and the K&DL currently formalising competitions, there’s sure to be some new faces looking for games mid week.
Two current league players (from K&DL etc.) will be allowed on teams but League of Ireland players at any level will not be permitted to enter.
If you’re looking for a slice of evening football this summer, closing date for entries is this coming Monday 17 May.
Teams can be entered by contacting Eamonn Cleere on 087 9582127.
