Kilkenny Senior Football manager Christy Walsh says that playing before the Dubs match against Laois this weekend will only raise the profile of their match.

Kilkenny play London in the British Junior Championship on Saturday evening in Nowlan Park.

Throw-in is at 5pm and it is a curtain raiser to the Dublin and Laois match.

Speaking to KCLR, Christy says there will be a novelty factor to Saturday’s game….

“It will indeed, yeah and builds on from last years bit of success, and it’s great’s we were allowed play before Dublin Laois game.

There’s no doubt it raises the profile a little bit, and then fellas are excited about it and that can only be good.

“Yeah it’s great really. It will be a great day. It’s a novelty factor as well because nobody knows what to expect and so yeah looking forward to it”
