Damien Raggett says that meeting up with UK Coaches helped him get involved with the Irish 6-a-side Soccer Squad which is going to compete at the upcoming WORLD CUP.
Speaking on Saturday Scoreline, the Stoneyford native explains how the process came about.
He told KCLR “The current England 6-a-side manager Jamie Leggett and another friend of mine that I made friends with at a tournament Joe Keith who plays with Scotland, both of them had been on the Irish page and seen that there was the final trial so they kind of got on to me saying would you not give it a go, so I just got in contact with the page and they said they had an open trial that they would be more than happy if I came down”.
“It’s all based in Cork so if you want to stay involved you have to stay training in Cork so I am in now so I am in Cork once a week”.
